I don’t know much about lean management. I just want to put in my two cents.
I do know that if you reduce the number of rules, things can go more smoothly.
They can also go much worse. The key to reducing the number of rules is to have the right people assigned to the right job functions. The key to that is to have the right kind of information available for both the job functions and the people.
The business talent endeme set can store and use some of this information. Combine that with skills attitude and experience and you have a foundation for low rules, high productivity.
